First stop
Tan Hiok Nee Cultural Street - A century of heritage
At the corner of Tan Hiok Nee street is 锦华茶餐室@ Restoran Kin Hua
who withstood the onslaught of time, accumulating more than half a century's worth of history. The only decorations are peel-offs from walls that have been around before even you and I were born. The unpretentious cafe (or kopitiam, as locals call it) serves comfort food such as coffee, toasted bread and soft boiled eggs which most Malaysians adore. Just be warned and prepared to wait for a table on a weekend morning ! You may even spot yours truly waiting :)
Don't miss out the unassuming bakery opposite Restoran Kin Hua while you are waiting for a table. Hiap Joo Bakery & Biscuit (协裕面包西果厂) has been around for 80 years and does not pale in comparison with it's illustrious neighbour. With the only coal-fired stove left in Johor Bahru, Hiap Joo has churned out countless mouth-watering, fresh banana cakes that will only leave you wanting for more.

In August 2007, the temple decided on having glass as a theme, and had used over 500k pieces of it as mosaics, earning it the title "Hindu Glass Temple"。
